International conferences, expositions to be held successively
A series of international conferences and expositions will be held in Busan in May, further elevating the city's global status.
The city will host the International Aquaculture Exposition-World Aquaculture Congress from May 19-23, the Fifth International Conference of Aquapolises May 21-23 and the 2008 JCI Busan ASPAC Conference May 28-June 1, at Bexco, Nurimaru APEC House and elsewhere.
■ 2008 World Aquaculture Congress
This is the largest international aquaculture event, participated in by 3,000 industrial, governmental and academic experts from 94 countries. Presentations and discussions on a variety of related issues, including crab, seawater, freshwater, and mollusk farming will enable participants to share up-to-date industrial trends and new technology. ■ Fifth International Conference of Aquapolises
More than 140 mayors, experts and businesspeople from about 40 major cities will take part in this event under the theme, "For a Sustainable Aquapolis." The meeting, a get-together of cities w ith a unique culture and history based on harmony of water and greenery, will have extensive discussions on subjects such as how to build cityscapes.
