City pushes for hosting 'IT Olympics'

The city is pushing to play host to the "ITU Telecom World," widely called the "IT Olympics," in 2012.

The city plans to actively stress its experience of hosting the "ITU Telecom Asia" in 2004, superior exhibition- convention facilities and tourism infrastructure, as well as world-class ubiquitous environment.

 "ITU Telecom World" is the world's biggest exhibition and academic event in the IT sector held every three years under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union, in which global IT businesses put their state-of-the-art technology and newest products on the market and most of the big-name industrialists participate, thus earning it the nickname of the "IT Olympics."
