Busan City Women’s Community Center has been selected as one of four best authorities supporting multicultural families among the 92 multicultural family support centers across the country. The Busan City Women’s Community Center has been running excellent Korean Language programs for multicultural families and has also been providing lots of support for the employment of married immigrants.
The evaluation of 43 criteria including Korean Language programs, family classes, home visiting services, interpretation & translation services and language development for children from multicultural families has been conducted at 92 multicultural family support centers in Korea by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. As a result, Busan City Women’s Community Center has been selected as the one of four best authorities supporting multicultural families and the Center was awarded a prize at the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) in Seoul on February 7, 2012.
An official of the Busan City Women’s Community Center said, “With our selection as an excellent multicultural family support center, we will now be revitalizing our programs to better support multicultural families in their efforts to adjust to life in Busan.”
