Busan
Mayor Shu Byung-soo visited Thailand and India from March 10 – 15 to promote the
City of Busan.
Mayor
Suh participated in the 3rd ASEM Mayors and Governors Meeting (MGM) in Bangkok
and presented Busan’s Traffic Management Operating System entitled “A Public
Transit centered City.” The mayor also worked to strengthen cooperation with
participating mayors at the conference as well as promote the city’s bid to
host the 5th ASEM MGM in Busan.

Suh met with MR. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor of Bangkok, and suggested using
driverless light-rail transit K-AGT (Korean-Automated Guideway Transit) railcars
for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s (BMA) monorail project. Mr.
Sukhumbhand had a chance to ride one of these very same unmanned K‐AGT light
railcars, which run on Metro Line 4, when he visited Busan earlier in
February.

Suh also visited India’s capital city of New Delhi, Bengaluru, which is known
as the "Silicon Valley of India, and Chennai where such Busan-based
companies as SUNGWOO HITECH have a strong presence.
In an effort to foster the growth of the city’s IT, film and visual media companies in India, the mayor also visited Infosys Ltd, one of India’s major IT companies, and Madras Talkies, a film and television production and distribution company.
