2026 Car-Free Cultural Street in Gwangalli
In July and August, Gwangalli Beach comes alive as a nighttime destination. Each weekend from 21:00 to 23:30, Suyeong-gu restricts vehicle access and runs the Car-Free Cultural Street program along an 830-meter section of Gwangallihaebyeon-ro, stretching from the Gwangalli SUP Zone Intersection to Meeting Square.
Under the theme ‘Summer Night Worth Staying For, Gwangalli to Walk Again,’ the program introduces fresh content focused on relaxation, engagement, and entertainment: ▲ Giant Jenga, ▲ the Beach Lounge where people can listen to music via noise-cancelling headphones, ▲ the Beach Arcade for parents and children alike, ▲ the Beach Chill Area featuring hammocks and beanbags, and ▲ the Beach Photo Spot with LED installations.
A broad range of hands-on activities is offered as well. Gwangallihaebyeon-ro becomes a creative canvas centered on the Chalk Art Zone, while diffuser-, bead-, and mask-making workshops are available throughout the program period. A dedicated eco-friendly waste sorting point promotes responsible practices. In addition, curated performances—dance showcases associated with Global Street Dance Heroes in Gwangalli Beach, the Clown Theatre Festival, and the Balcony Music Concert—are staged by the sea.
