□ Domoheon recorded a cumulative total of 500,000 visitors on April 22, 2026, just one year and seven months after opening.
○ Formerly the mayoral residence—once perceived as an authoritative site—it has been transformed into a multi-purpose complex. Since its unveiling to the public in September 2024 for the first time in 40 years, it has steadily attracted attention by means of a wide range of dynamic initiatives, such as Domoheon Busan School and carefully selected presentations.
□ Embracing its founding concept, ‘Walk, Stay, and Remember,’ Domoheon integrates exhibits, lectures, performances, hands-on activities, and rest areas.
□ To commemorate hitting 500,000 visitors and mark Family Month in May, a variety of events are slated for May 2–3.
○ Participation is free of charge for everyone; some require registration via the website or in person.
□ The lineup consists of: ▲ the children’s play ‘Peter Pan,’ ▲ magic shows, fusion traditional Korean music and Family Month concerts, ▲ the ‘Large Canvas Wall’ performance, ▲ interactive booths, ▲ Sosopung Garden programs, and ▲ photo zones—all designed for family enjoyment.
○ On May 2 and 3 at 14:00 and 16:00, visitors can navigate Domoheon, meet actors, and take pictures at pop-up booths depicting key scenes from J.M. Barrie’s ‘Peter Pan’ (photo zones). They can then view a complimentary show based on the original story at the Sosopung Garden stage.
○ The Sosopung Garden program, under the theme ‘Spring at Domoheon: Encounters with Nature,’ hosts families to craft their own miniature gardens.
□ On the occasion of Children’s Day, Domoheon remains open from 10:00 to 18:00 on May 5, a day when it is normally closed.
○ The main building, Sosopung Garden, and the café are accessible, with free shuttle bus service and parking available.
○ However, no events are planned for May 5. Deullak Nallak Children’s Library, located near the entrance, is also closed.
□ Busan Immersed in Jazz II, an expanded version of last year’s popular monthly outdoor jazz concert series, extends from April 25 to October 31 on the last Saturday of each month at Sosopung Garden.
○ As the second season of the series, the concert cultivates a laid-back atmosphere in collaboration with artists from Busan, Korea, and abroad, providing a peaceful and emotionally resonant experience.
□ The city will sustain its tireless efforts to further develop Domoheon into a richer and more lively space through the Busan Mobility Special Exhibition, curated showcases, and the creation of a year-end Garden Village.
