From April 23 to 28, the Busan International Short Film Festival returns to Busan, bringing together outstanding short films from Korea and around the world. The festival aims to discover and showcase diverse voices in short filmmaking while contributing to the growth of film culture.
This year’s theme, “Cinema & Lumière,” explores the essence of cinema through light—the very origin and foundation of film as an art form.
The official poster, created by last year’s Grand Prize winner Hakim Atoui, reinterprets light not just as illumination, but as a form of burning—an expression of emotion, desire, and the raw nature of cinema itself.
A space where bold, experimental, and diverse works come together— experience the essence of cinema this spring in Busan.
