2026 Lunar New Year (Seollal) Holiday Guide (Feb. 14-18)

Seollal, marking the first day of the lunar calendar, is one of Korea's most cherished and important celebrations. It is a meaningful time for families to gather, welcome the New Year, and honor their ancestors.

This year, Seollal falls on Tuesday, February 17. Including the day before and after, the official public holiday spans Monday, February 16, to Wednesday, February 18.

Free tolls on seven toll roads during the Lunar New Year holiday

*Exemption period: Sunday, February 15-Wednesday, February 18 for four days

*Toll-free roads: Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Busanhangdaegyo Bridge, Eulsukdodaegyo Bridge, Geogadaegyo Bridge, Sujeongsan Tunnel, Sanseong Tunnel, Cheonma Tunnel

On the occasion of Seollal, tolls on highways countrywide will be waived for four days, from February 15 through 18, 2026.


Toll-Free Access on the Mandeok–Centum Urban Expressway During the Lunar New Year Holiday Period

Exemption Period: February 10 (Tue) to February 18 (Wed), for nine days
