The 2025 Hungarian Film Days pays tribute to Judit Elek, who thoughtfully examined Hungary’s turbulent 20th century and its social transformations.
The late Elek, who passed away on October 1, 2025, was a distinguished director and screenwriter whose career spanned over four decades. Between 1962 and 2006, she completed 16 works that continue to resonate today with subtle emotional depth and profound humanism.
This year’s edition showcases nine titles that trace the evolution of her artistic journey—from intimate observational shorts to powerful features imbued with social messages.
Join us for this special retrospective and celebrate the enduring legacy of Elek.
