Domoheon Open During Chuseok Holiday

□ Throughout the Chuseok holiday, the multicultural complex, Domoheon, will open its doors.

○ From October 5 to 9, it will welcome visiting families, residents, and tourists seeking a relaxing experience in the heart of the city. Hours are 10:00 to 18:00.

□ Visitors are invited to explore the main building, Sosopung Garden—Busan’s first ‘Everyday Garden’—as well as exhibitions in the lounge, and the on-site café.

○ ▲ They can trace the significance of Domoheon, once a presidential retreat and later the Busan mayor’s residence—a symbol of authority that has now returned to the public after 40 years. ▲ At the terraced lecture hall, Dahal, archival videos documenting Domoheon’s past, present, and future will be screened. ▲ Sosopung Garden is ideal for a stroll amid autumn scenery. ▲ Free exhibitions in the first- and second-floor lounges and the café will also be available.

○ A calm atmosphere will be maintained, with no events scheduled and access limited to the facility itself. Deullak Nallak, a children’s library at the front entrance, will remain closed.

□ The Domoheon shuttle bus will be in operation during this period—normally inactive on holidays or closure days—and parking will be provided at no charge for added convenience.

○ The shuttle will run every 30 minutes between Exit 1 of Namcheon Station on Metro Line 2 and Domoheon. A timetable is posted on the official website (busan.go.kr/domoheon).

○ The parking lot will be free from 09:30 to 18:30. In light of expected congestion, guests are encouraged to use public transit.

○ A situation room will be staffed with cleaning personnel, parking attendants, and volunteers to offer assistance.

□ Mayor Park Heong-joon said, “I hope this special opening will give everyone a chance to unwind. Domoheon is a must-see landmark in Busan. I anticipate it will become an even more beloved space.”
