Recruitment Campaign for Busan Foreign Resident Connectors

□ Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Global City Foundation are now recruiting participants for the inaugural Busan Foreign Resident Connectors, designed to amplify the voices of resident aliens and facilitate community involvement.

○ The Busan Foreign Resident Connectors program provides foreigners living in Busan with the opportunity to share their day-to-day experiences and policy suggestions as valued members of society, contributing meaningfully to the city’s development.

○ This program is an upgraded version of the three previous cohorts of the Busan Foreign Resident Council that have been formed since 2019. While the previous format focused primarily on meetings and opinion gathering, the revamped one encourages participants to proactively engage in local initiatives and propose practical, district-specific policies.

□ Selected Connectors will join district-level projects, create content about foreigner-friendly spots, eateries, and lifestyle tips by district, as well as receive capacity-building training.

○ Allowances, volunteer hours, and other incentives will be given to selected Connectors. Their activity logs will also be posted on Life in Busan, a support platform tailored to resident aliens.

□ The program aims to illuminate living conditions from the perspectives of resident aliens and foster a more inclusive, global, and sustainable city through open dialogue and cooperative policymaking.

□ Foreign nationals aged 18 or older who have resided in Korea for at least one year and in Busan for at least 90 days are eligible to apply.

□ Applications can be submitted online at www.bgcf.or.kr by April 23, 2025. For inquiries, please contact the World Citizens Team of the Busan Global City Foundation at 051-711-6851.

○ Successful candidates will be notified on May 2, following document screening and in-person interviews.
