Chuseok is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, one of the biggest and most important holidays in Korea. Family members from near and far come together to share food and stories and give thanks to their ancestors. This year, Chuseok falls on Friday, September 29.

The government designated Oct. 2 as a special temporary holiday in a move aimed at shoring up the domestic economy. Therefore, this Chuseok holiday will be from Sep. 29th to Oct. 3rd for six days.
