Call for Applications: 2023 ASEAN-ROK Professional Training Program on XR/Metaverse

The International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP), is accepting applications for the 2023 ASEAN-ROK Professional Training Program on XR/Metaverse in partnership with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA) of the Republic of Korea.
The program focuses on the intersection of intangible cultural heritage and technology and consists of online and offline sessions. During the online session (3 to 21 July 2023), forty participants will explore the XR/Metaverse technologies and write project proposals. After evaluation, eighteen participants will be selected for the offline session (11 to 16 September 2023) to be held in Busan and Gyeongju, Korea, where they will visit XR/Metaverse-related facilities and have an opportunity to network with Korean companies. For the offline session, participants will be provided with airfare, accommodation, and meals.
Eligible applicants from intangible cultural heritage-related ministries, local government, public organizations, and academics in the ASEAN countries can apply as a team of up to three individuals. Fluency in English is required. To apply, download the application form from ICHCAP’s website (www.unesco-ichcap.org) and submit it to bipa.training@gmail.com by 9 June 2023.
