The city of Busan, jointly with Gu and Gun offices, have begun cracking down on illegal fireworks and firework sales on seven beaches in Busan from April 16 to the end of April ahead of beach season.
According to the law below - Act on the Use and Management of Bathing Beaches, violations of Article 22 (1) 1 and 8 will result in fines of 100,000 won and 50,000 won accordingly.
ACT ON THE USE AND MANAGEMENT OF BATHING BEACHES
Article 22 (Matters to Be Observed at Bathing Beaches)
(1) 1. Conducting either commercial transactions without permission from the relevant management authority or commercial transactions outside a designated place;
(1) 8. Setting off toy fireworks referred to in Article 2 (3) 3 (h) of the Act on Control of Guns, Swords, Explosives, Etc., on a sandy beach: Provided, that the same shall not apply where permission for such activity has been obtained from the relevant management authority;
To make beaches safer for visitors throughout the year, the city is conducting the campaign with beach management offices to inform the public from April 16th to 30th on the seven beaches in Busan at night.
Those who violate the law and refuse to follow orders will be fined.
