Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation have announced that they are looking for 15 new members to join the 2nd Busan Foreign Residents Council (BFRC). The purpose is to help foster a society where Koreans and foreigners living in Korea respect each other’s cultures and traditions and live in harmony.

The BFRC, which reflects the voices of foreign residents regarding the policies of Busan Metropolitan City, was established in March 2019. Council members hold their positions for two years and are divided into two sections: Human Rights & Culture, and Life & Competence. The members will suggest any improvements or inconveniences submitted by foreign residents living in Busan, learn about various support policies, and promote policies to foreigners.

The application deadline is March 31, 2021. The application form is available at http://www.bfic.kr to download and the application can be submitted by email (bfic.globalcitizen@gmai.com) or by post (부산광역시 연제구 중앙대로 1000, 13층 부산국제교류재단 세계시민협력팀/우편번호 47606)

Foreigners aged 18 years or older who have resided in Busan for more than 90 days and can communicate in Korean are eligible to apply to be a member of BFRC. References will be required to be submitted for verification.

The final results will be announced on April 6, 2021, with the appointment ceremony for the 2nd BFRC expected to take place in April 2021.
