2018
Gwangalli Fishing Village Festival takes place from April 27 to April 29 at
Gwangalli Beach.
The
festival features the traditional fishing village culture of the Suyeong
region.
There
are a variety of things for visitors to enjoy, including a fishnet dragging experience,
Jindueohwa (reenactment of a traditional fishing scene), various street
performances, food market and lots more.
The
street parade is one of the highlights of the festival, which takes place from
the Suyeong-gu Office to Millak Waterfront Park via Namcheon Samik Beach
Apartment and Gwangalli Beach road starting at 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, April 28th. The parade draws about 1,600 participants from
46 performance teams.
There
are cool things to see in the parade, including;
About
150 participants reenacting a Gyeongsangjwado Naval Force Commander parade from
the Joseon Dynasty period. About 300 members of Suyeong Folklore Conservation
Association will make traditional parade items, including Suyeong Yaru and
traditional mask dances. In addition, the lifestyles from the old fishing
village will also be reenacted in the parade.
