Busan
Tower at Yongdusan Park, a landmark of Busan, has now been registered on the
World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT) through a joint effort by Busan
Metropolitan City and the Busan Tourism Organization.
Busan
Tower becomes the second tower in Korea to join the WFGT, following Seoul’s N
Tower.
With
50 members in over 20 countries across the world, the World Federation of Great
Towers exists to showcase the great towers of the world and celebrate the
astonishing feats of architecture and engineering that created them. The
Federation also exists to help develop local and international opportunities
for its member towers to promote themselves, and to encourage networking, idea
sharing and fruitful partnerships between the great towers of the world.
CN
Tower of Toronto, the Empire State Building of New York, Tokyo Tower and Sydney
Tower are also listed in the WFGT.

Busan
City has been busy recreating Yongdusan Park as a one-stop tourist attraction
for shopping, food and sightseeing in the downtown area. Busan Tower reopened
in July 2017 after remodeling. Busan Tower comprises the tower (exhibition
hall, gift shop, photo studio, and observatory) and octagonal pavilion. The
Busan Tower observatory is installed with AR and VR media-based attractions (VR
telescope, Window mapping show) and real-time video channel between Busan Tower
and N Seoul Tower. The food and beverage section with VIPS burger, snack bar,
and A Twosome Place opened in the octagonal pavilion.
A
media façade on the exterior wall of the Busan Tower and Busan Duty Free Shop
in the park are scheduled to open by this December.
Newly
remodeled Busan Tower will be promoted worldwide as a member of WFGT.
