Newly Upgraded Airport Limousine Buses to Begin Full Operation on July 31

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that, starting July 31, 10 airport limousine buses will begin regular service between the city and Gimhae Airport in anticipation of increased summer holiday travel demand.

The Gimhae Airport limousine service will operate on two routes.
‘Airport Limousine 1’ will run between Haeundae–Gijang and Gimhae Airport, with the first departure from Gijang at 4:50 AM.
‘Airport Limousine 2’ will operate between Seomyeon–Bujeon and Gimhae Airport, with the first departure from the Bujeon Station stop at 6:00 AM.

• ●‘Airport Limousine 1 (Haeundae–Gijang)’ departs from Banyan Tree Haeundae Busan and travels via Jangsan Station, Haeundae Beach, and Hanwha Resort Haeundae, crossing the Gwangan Bridge en route to Gimhae Airport.

• ●‘Airport Limousine 2 (Seomyeon–Bujeon)’ uses the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, departing from the Bujeon Station BRT stop, passing Seomyeon Station (Lotte Department Store), and continuing to the airport.

The fare for adults is KRW 9,500 for ‘Airport Limousine 1 (Haeundae–Gijang)’ and KRW 7,500 for ‘Airport Limousine 2 (Seomyeon–Bujeon)’. Free transfers to other public transport systems are not available.
This represents a reduction of approximately KRW 500 compared to the previous airport limousine service, which ceased operations last year.

Passengers can pre-book their ride using a credit card. Both credit and transit cards are accepted for on-site boarding. Note that cash is not accepted, so passengers must carry a card to board.

Reservations should be made via “Bustago,” an intercity bus booking app. On-site boarding is permitted only if seats are available. If no seats remain, boarding is not possible, so advance booking is highly recommended.
A QR code issued upon app ticketing must be scanned when boarding. Seating is non-reserved and based on availability.

Unlike previous services, the new ‘Haeundae–Gijang’ route bypasses the Suyeong Intersection and instead uses the Gwangan Bridge, reducing travel time. The ‘Seomyeon–Bujeon’ route now uses the BRT system instead of the Dongseo Overpass, allowing passengers to board and disembark at BRT stops such as Dong-eui University Station and Jurye Station.

All buses are equipped with the Bus Information Management System (BIMS), enabling real-time information on routes and arrival times via KakaoMap or Naver Map by searching the route name.
This allows users to predict arrival times accurately and utilize the limousine buses more reliably.

Passengers can carry up to two pieces of luggage per person (totaling under 30kg) without additional charges. This solves a key inconvenience for those unable to use city buses due to bulky luggage.

Each bus accommodates 23 passengers with spacious seating, adjustable backrests, USB ports, individual reading lights, and onboard Wi-Fi.

All vehicles are eco-friendly hydrogen-electric buses, which emit only water and air during operation and contribute significantly to reducing fine dust pollution.

As a result of the new service, Bus No. 2029, which previously operated to and from Gimhae Airport, will be discontinued as of July 31 due to route overlap.

Hwang Hyun-cheol, Director General of the Transportation Innovation Bureau, stated,
“Amid a record-breaking milestone of over one million international visitors to Busan in the shortest time this year, we are committed to providing an airport limousine service that meets the expectations of both local residents and global travelers as we work to establish Busan as a premier global tourism city.”

He added,
“This service eliminates the hassle of walking or parking at the airport, making it the most reasonable public transportation option for citizens and tourists using Gimhae Airport.”
