Busan Library to Host "2025 Independent Publishing Book Fair"

The Busan Library (hereafter referred to as "the Library") announced it will host the "2025 Independent Publishing Book Fair" from May 1 to June 8, offering citizens the chance to explore and experience independent publishing.

• ●Taking place in the Special Exhibition Hall and Busan Academy on the second floor of the Library,
  the fair will be held under the theme "SUPER MINOR BOOKS: A Festival of Small but Powerful Stories."

• ●The event will feature exhibitions of 200 different types of independently published books, along with nine creative programs,
  providing opportunities for citizens to experience book-making and interact with independent authors.

The event will spotlight the personal and experimental nature of independent publishing,
which is rarely found in the mainstream publishing market, through the following:
▲ Exhibition and creative experience space
▲ Writing workshops
▲ Meetings with authors
▲ Book-making programs.

• ●At the exhibition entrance, a "Creative Experience Space" will be set up where visitors can freely engage in creative activities, using a specially designed holder to express their own stories.

• ●A variety of linked programs will also be offered.
  Participants ranging from elementary students to adults will have a chance to transform their everyday lives into unique creative content.

▲ From May 10, every Saturday, Meet the Independent Authors events will be held, featuring writers Deokgyu Unni, Yoo Dajeong, Choi Hajin, and Simsin.
▲ Starting May 13, every Tuesday, writing workshops with writers Lee Si-kyung and Mason will take place.
▲ From May 18, every Sunday, Zine-Making Workshops will be hosted by writers Lee Hyung-sa, Sangjakga, and Noksim.

• ●Additionally, on May 21, Franco, the owner of the independent bookstore Peace Kind Home, will lead a special workshop titled "The Ambiguous and Beautiful World of Independent Publishing" for library librarians.
  This session will explore the value of independent publications as library resources and their unique characteristics.

The fair will be open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except on Mondays and public holidays,
and admission is free for everyone.
