Busan Daycare Association Donates KRW 127 Million to Support Recovery from Wildfires in Yeongnam Region

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) held a donation ceremony at 3:40 PM on April 24 in the mayor’s reception room at City Hall, where the Busan Daycare Association delivered KRW 127,109,057 to support recovery efforts for victims of recent wildfires in the Yeongnam region.

The fundraising campaign took place from April 1 to 18, with participation from 575 affiliated daycare centers. Children, parents, and childcare staff voluntarily joined the effort to help neighbors in crisis.

The entire amount raised will be donated to the Community Chest of Korea, Busan Branch, and will be directed to support wildfire victims in rebuilding their lives.

Mayor Park Heong-joon expressed gratitude, stating:
“I deeply thank the children and teachers who took part in this meaningful initiative. This will serve as a valuable opportunity for young children to learn the importance of compassion and helping others. We sincerely hope for a swift recovery for all those affected by the wildfires.”
