World Korean Sports Association Visits Busan, Host City of the 106th National Sports Festival

From April 22 to 24, a delegation of 40 representatives from the World Korean Sports Association (WKSA) is visiting The Busan Metropolitan City to discuss preparations for the 106th National Sports Festival—scheduled to be held in Busan from October 17 to 23, 2025—and to explore cooperative measures to support overseas Korean athletes.

Day 1 (April 22)

• ●The WKSA delegation arrived in Busan and attended a coordination meeting with festival officials at Lotte Hotel Busan.

• ●Vice Mayor Lee Jun-seung hosted a welcome dinner, where Busan’s charm and hospitality were showcased through specialized local cuisine (B-FOOD)—recipes developed by the city to promote the globalization of Busan’s food culture.

• ●The city presented its comprehensive preparations for the festival, including lodging and transport support for overseas delegations, and plans to ensure their comfort throughout the event.

Day 2 (April 23)

• ●The delegation visited Busan Asiad Main Stadium, the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as various sports venues where overseas athletes will compete (e.g., soccer, tennis).

• ●They also conducted on-site inspections of accommodations designated for the overseas delegations. The city has proactively secured affordable lodging, including training centers and dormitories, ensuring smooth preparations and full capacity.

Day 3 (April 24)

• ●The final day includes support for WKSA’s general assembly and a farewell luncheon hosted by the Director-General of the Bureau of Sports and Culture, marking the end of the three-day visit.
