Busan City to Recruit Participants for the "Youth Local Creator Level-Up Project"

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it is accepting applications for the "Youth Local Creator Level-Up Project" until April 20 to respond to the issue of population decline and promote the local economy.

The term “local creator” refers to an entrepreneur who combines regional natural or cultural characteristics with creative ideas to generate business value. These creators are active in seven sectors: local values, local food, local manufacturing, region-specific tourism, regional branding, digital cultural experiences, and nature-friendly activities.

This project is designed to address the challenge of regional population decline by supporting the growth of young local creators and encouraging them to settle in the region—thereby contributing to economic revitalization.

This year, in addition to the existing training programs, the city will strengthen connections with the local community and expand networking opportunities to support stable business growth.

Eligible applicants include young local creators aged 18 to 39 who have been in business for less than seven years. The city will select:

• ●Seven individuals for the Individual Type

• ●Two teams composed around a local creator for the Collaborative Type

Each type will receive customized support.

To strengthen business content and expand market opportunities, the project will provide:

• ●Business funding and collaborative project support

• ●Foundational business consulting

• ●Business model advancement

• ●Sales channel development through local festivals

Individual participants may receive up to KRW 25 million, while collaborative teams may receive up to KRW 45 million.

Additional support includes:

• ●Pop-up store operations

• ●Local product sales exhibitions

• ●Development of regional content

• ●Local business networking events

• ●Showcase events for local content achievements

Interested youth must verify their eligibility and apply online via the Busan Youth Jobs portal (https://www.busanjob.net/08_wyou/wyou09_2.asp) by midnight on April 20.

An information session for prospective applicants will be held tomorrow (April 11) at 3:00 p.m. at the Busan Economic Promotion Agency (1090 Jungang-daero, Yeonje-gu, 4th floor conference room).

• ○Support: Business funding, consulting, business model development, sales channel support, networking, etc.

• 2.Collaborative Type – Teams led by youth local creators

• ○Quota: 2 teams

• ○Structure: A lead applicant forms a team with at least one other business located in the same district in Busan

• ○Objective: Promote creative collaboration among youth local creators to strengthen urban tourism and regeneration content, and attract more residents to the area

• ○Support: Collaborative project funding, sales channel development, networking, etc.
