Science Meets Culture: 24th Busan Science Festival to Be Held April 12–13 at BEXCO

The City of Busan (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the 24th Busan Science Festival will be held from April 12 (Sat) to April 13 (Sun) at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1.

Jointly hosted by Busan City and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, and organized by the Busan Science & Technology Council and the Busan Institute for Creativity and Convergence Education, the festival celebrates its 24th year in 2025.

Under the theme "The Ensemble of Science and Culture", this year’s festival aims to share the harmony of science and culture with citizens and offer immersive experiences that highlight the presence of science in everyday culture.

More than 70 organizations — including national and private science institutions and student teams from middle and high schools — will present 110 interactive science experiences.

Four themed experience zones will be set up:

• ●Le Temps Playground (*“le temps” means “playful” in French): A creative play zone combining science with music, magic, and art

• ●Petit Science Museum (*“petit” means “small”): A showcase of science exhibits from Busan’s leading research institutions

• ●École Laboratory (*“école” means “school”): A science education area where students display and explain their own creative experiments

• ●Science Conte (*“conte” means “story”): A stage program featuring science-themed performances, lectures, and artistic fusions

Some programs require advance reservation or on-site first-come-first-served participation.

Other highlights include science-themed crafts, puzzle games, and a giant track demonstration, offering fun and learning for all ages.

The opening ceremony will be held on April 12 at 10:00 AM, attended by around 100 guests and citizens. It will include the presentation of the 24th Busan Science and Technology Awards, honoring those with outstanding achievements in research and innovation.
