Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on the Entrustment of Hansen’s Disease Management
- Article 1 (Purpose)
- The purpose of this Ordinance is to prescribe necessary matters for the professional and efficient management of Hansen's Disease, which is a Type Three Infectious Disease under Article 2 of Prevention of Contagious Disease Act，taking the special conditions of the disease into consideration.
- Article 2 (Hansen’s Disease Project)
- The Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") shall implement projects in the following subparagraphs to control the Hansen's disease.
- 1. Prevention and treatment of Hansen's disease
- 2. Campaigns to raise awareness of Hansen's disease
- 3. Research and study of Hansen's disease
- 4. Social integration and rehabilitation of people recovering from Hansen's disease
- 5. Hospitalization of chronic Hansen's disease patients
- 6. Devising ways to improve living standards of Hansen's disease patients
- 7. Establishing and operating a clinic dedicated to treating Hansen's disease
- 8. Projects to examine and treat general dermatology ailments
- 9. Other projects for the management of Hansen's disease
- Article 3 (Entrustment and Expenses)(1) The Mayor may entrust to implement the projects stipulated in Article 2 to Busan Metropolitan City Korea Hansen's Disease Welfare Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Association” when deemed necessary to control Hansen's disease .
- (2) The Mayor may assist the operation expenses of the entrustment.
- Article 4 (Establishment and Operation of facilities)(1) The Association shall establish and operate a medical office or an attached clinic to prevent the Type Three infectious disease in accordance with Article 23 of the Prevention of Contagious Disease Act
- (2) The Association shall establish and operate an affiliated clinic dedicated to treating the seqela or complications of Hansen's disease.
- (3) The Mayor may support the expenses for purchasing and installing equipments.
- Article 5 (Report on Activities)(1) The Association shall report the quarterly performance of the project to the Mayor.
- (2) The Association shall report the quarterly performance of the project to the Mayor.
- Article 6 (Municipal Rule)
- Necessary matters concerning the enforcement of this Ordinance shall be prescribed by municipal rules.
