Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Veterans, etc.
- Article 1 (Purpose)
- The purpose of this Ordinance is to prescribe necessary matters related to the honorable treatment and support of the Veterans and the Veterans Association, to promote the honor of the veterans, and thus to foster the patriotism among citizens.
- Article 2 (Definition)

- 1. The term “Veterans” means persons who falls under the subparagraphs of Article 5 of the Korea Veterans Association Act; and
- 2. The term “Veterans Associations” means the Busan Metropolitan City Veterans Associations under Article 6 of the Korea Veterans Association Act.
- Article 3 (Duties)(1) The Busan Metropolitan City and the citizens shall endeavor to promote the honor and contribution of the Veterans who have faithfully carried out the national defense duties.
- Article 4 (Honorable Treatment)
- The Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the “Mayor”) may render honorable treatment in the following subparagraphs to the Veterans:

- 1. Honorable treatment by invitation to various events and ceremonious matters for the promotion of veterans honor;
- 2. Award prizes to contributors to the State or public interest in various veteran related memorial days;
- 3. Encouragement for the unfortunate members of the Veterans Association or the remaining family in adverse circumstances; and
- 4. Other matters that the Mayor deems necessary for the enhancement of dignity and pride of the Veterans
- Article 5 (Support)
- The Mayor may financially support the businesses of the following subparagraphs that the Veterans Association promotes within the limit of the budget:

- 1. Businesses that cherishes or commemorates people who have been sacrificed or have contributed to the State;
- 2. Businesses that remember veterans who have participated in the Korean War or the Vietnam War;
- 3. Educational businesses for the promotion of the members’ awareness of national security and patriotic spirit; and
- 4. Pilgrimage businesses that visit sites of national security such as battlefields and national security facilities for encouraging the public’s awareness to national security
