Moving beyond an anthropocentric perspective, the Open Call for Land-Ecological Art invites artists to see Eulsukdo anew from more-than-human perspectives and to reimagine coexis- tence between humans and the natural world. The open call asks what roles and responsibilities humans should take on to sustain Eulsukdo’s landscape and the diverse forms of life it supports. Located in the Nakdong River estuary, Eulsukdo is a place where waterways, landforms, vegetation and living beings are in constant flux. At the same time, the climate crisis and rising sea levels threaten the landscape we see today. Through art, we seek to reveal Eulsukdo’s intersecting histories of disappearance and emergence, damage and recovery, while exploring a future in which humans and nature can coexist sustainably.
