□ The 99-act lineup for the 2026 Busan International Rock Festival, slated for October 2 to 4 at Samnak Ecological Park, was announced on September 4, 2026.
□ The LIBERTINES, a band that spearheaded the revival of British rock in the 2000s, is the final headliner. Taking the stage are Broccoli, you too?, Jang Beomjune, IDIOTAPE, N.Flying, KWON JIN AH, Say Sue Me, and LUCY, alongside Japanese artists—HANABIE. and AiNA THE END.
○ Previously revealed performers include AVENGED SEVENFOLD, MEGADETH, Songgolmae, JANNABI, CreepHyp, Suchmos, HANRORO, and WOODZ.
○ Keen interest is reflected in ticket sales. Most tickets are currently sold out through YES24 Ticket, with availability updating in real time whenever cancellations occur.
□ Notably, Busan Metropolitan City has strengthened not only overseas ticketing options but also transport and tourism connections to make the festival more accommodating to international visitors and encourage them to stay in and explore the city.
○ Tickets can be secured via global online agencies—Klook, KKday, and Trip.com—in conjunction with Busan tourism products.
○ Shuttle buses operate between Gimhae International Airport / Busan Station and the festival site. Professional guides will be on board. Seats can be reserved at Klook.
○ k.ride, Kakao Mobility’s foreigner-exclusive platform, offers deals combining admissions with round-trip transportation to and from the Seoul metropolitan area and the festival site to increase travel convenience.
○ These efforts will help Busan further develop links between the event and tourism content tailored to music fans.
□ Kakao Map also plays a role in elevating the festival experience and bolstering ties with local businesses.
○ Given the large crowds, digital information tools have been expanded to maximize overall satisfaction.
○ Kakao Map enables users to find facilities within the festival grounds as well as dining establishments in and around Sasang-gu. Customers at designated restaurants will benefit from discounts and other perks, bringing the energy of the festival to commercial districts.
○ The festivity will spread beyond Samnak Ecological Park. In partnership with the Busan Cultural Foundation, ‘Bu-long Night’ takes place at Sasang Indie Station, with attendees able to linger nearby and soak up the sounds and atmosphere late into the evening after the concerts end—which is anticipated to revitalize the surrounding economy.
□ ‘Rookies on the BU-ROCK,’ a program for discovering and nurturing emerging talent, is held at Hidden Stage as well.
○ The ten highest-ranking participants from the preliminary round advance to the main competition and the awards ceremony on Saturday and Sunday, while those finishing 11th through 15th are invited to a special show on Friday. Hidden Stage is open to everyone free of charge.
○ The total prize pool is 15 million won. The top three will appear at the 2027 Busan International Rock Festival, and the winner and runner-up will have opportunities to play abroad.
