Chefs Join Forces for Limited-Time Collaborations at 2026 Busan Gourmet Selection

□ Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Tourism Organization host the 2026 Busan Gourmet Selection from June 4 to 30, 2026, uniting Busan’s top-tier restaurants for a citywide celebration.

○ Restaurants are paired to reinterpret each other’s signature items or co-develop new recipes. Available only during the promotion period, these carefully curated offerings broaden the appeal of Busan’s epicurean scene.


□ A total of 13 teams comprising 26 restaurants represent a diverse range of cuisines, including Korean, Western, Japanese, Thai, and vegan styles, with many establishments listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide Busan.

○ This year, a public recruitment process was adopted, enabling all food service providers to take part irrespective of Michelin Guide status—thereby expanding opportunities for involvement.

○ Menus, prices, and reservation options differ among restaurants, and inquiries are handled directly by them.


□ Collaborative dishes are featured at participating restaurants throughout June. Several teams also operate pop-up spaces at Port Village Busan, bringing these creations to a wider audience.

○ Port Village Busan, held from June 4 to 21 at Pier 1 of Busan Port, is one of the city's flagship culinary events. Designed around the concept of a mysterious underwater village, the immersive site combines food, lifestyle, engaging activities, and performances in a multifaceted cultural marketplace.

Showcasing Busan Gourmet Selection collaboration menus through dining programs and booths, the event is expected to attract a cumulative 200,000 guests.



□ The Busan Gourmet Selection will generate synergy with BTS World Tour Arirang IN Busan (June 12–13) by encouraging domestic and international concertgoers to discover Busan's culinary landscape.

○ Savoring one-of-a-kind selections at collaborating restaurants before and after the concerts will deliver a unique gastronomic experience and boost length of stay and local spending.

○ Commencing in 2026, the Busan Gourmet Selection has been formalized as a biannual series, building on the successful pilot conducted from November to December last year.

○ The first edition takes place in June in conjunction with BTS World Tour Arirang IN Busan, and the second edition is slated for October during Festival Shiwol. Busan seeks to further establish gastronomy as a core tourism component.


2026 Busan Gourmet Selection

○ Period: Thursday, June 4 – Tuesday, June 30, 2026 ※ Dates vary by restaurant.

○ Participants: 13 teams consisting of 26 restaurants* in Busan

* Recruited through an open call, regardless of Michelin Guide recognition

○ Venues: ➊ Participating restaurants ➋ Port Village Busan (booths, dining programs)

○ Highlights: Collaboration menus developed by local businesses

○ Hosted by: Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Tourism Organization
