Holiday Red Kettles Return to Busan and the Gyeongnam Region

On December 1, the Salvation Army in Busan and the Gyeongnam region held its annual bell-ringing ceremony in front of Lotte Department Store in Seomyeon to mark the launch of the 2025 Red Kettle Campaign, an annual holiday fundraising event. The campaign will continue until December 31 at 14 locations across Busan and major cities in the Gyeongnam region, with a fundraising goal of 230 million won.

This year’s fundraising activities will take place on street corners, at toll gates, online and through kiosk-based donation platforms.

In Busan, the Salvation Army’s red kettles will be installed at 14 locations, including Jagalchi, Nampo-dong, Seomyeon (Lotte and Daehyeon Underground Shopping Centers), Dongnae, Yeonsan, Suyeong, Deokcheon, Centum City, Nopo, and Busan Station metro stations, as well as along the streets of Nampo-dong and at the Lotte Department Stores in Dongnae and Gwangbok.

The nationwide Red Kettle Campaign will operate at 350 locations.

Last year, the red kettles in Busan and the Gyeongnam region collected 197 million won. The donations were used to support vulnerable groups in urgent need, including emergency relief services, free meal programs for low-income individuals, housing improvement projects for vulnerable households, and free meal services for disaster victims.
