The 18th Busan Port Festival: Taking the Leap with K-POP

□ The 18th Busan Port Festival is set to take place on May 30 and 31, 2025, in collaboration with the Busan Regional Office of Oceans & Fisheries and the Busan Port Authority.

○ Since its inception in 2008, the Busan Port Festival has commemorated Ocean Day (May 31) annually, while acknowledging the importance of the Port of Busan. This year’s festivities will span the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, Bukhang Waterside Park, and the National Maritime Museum of Korea in Yeongdo.

□ Signaling a dynamic new chapter, the 2025 edition will incorporate K-pop programming, thanks to its selection as a 2025 large-scale Hallyu event by the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, and introduce a special preview of MyK FESTA*.

* MyK FESTA: A large-scale Hallyu event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, to be held in Seoul from June 19 to 22.

□ A conference titled ‘AI & Music’ is scheduled for May 30 at 11:30 on the first day of the Busan Port Festival, at Wyndham Grand Busan.

○ Experts from diverse fields will discuss the latest trends and future potential of artificial intelligence in the music industry.

□ Later that evening, the festival's main highlights—a K-pop concert and fireworks show—will electrify the outdoor parking lot of the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal.

○ Kicking off at 19:00, the concert will feature global sensations SUPER JUNIOR-D&E, CNBLUE, N.Flying, and ITZY, joined by rising talents KyoungSeo, dori, and ZOZAZZ.

○ The opening night will conclude with a fireworks display choreographed to the stunning Busan skyline, promising an unforgettable memory.

□ On the 31st, the celebration will continue at Bukhang Waterside Park with Global Port-Park*, boat tours, and K-pop cover dance performances; and around the National Maritime Museum in Yeongdo with mission stamp tours and other engaging activities.

* Global Port-Park: A participatory showcase of logistics and cultural content by country

○ Full program details can be found on the Busan Culture & Tourism Festival Organizing Committee website (www.bfo.or.kr) or by calling 051-713-5000.
