Visit Busan Pass
Leave your worries behind, and enjoy your trip in Busan

□ The city of Busan and the Busan Tourism Organization announced the official launch of the “Visit Busan Pass”, a foreigner-only tourist pass, starting Sept. 12.

○ The Visit Busan Pass, a tourist pass for foreigners, features a transportation card offering convenient travel in and around Busan and easier access to the city’s major tourist facilities. The pass was introduced through a pilot program during the first half of this year upon the resumption of global tourism in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

○ During the pilot operation, from Feb. 1 to late July, the Visit Busan Pass achieved 230% of its sales target, with sales of 24-hour and 48-hour passes totaling 34,543. Furthermore, the pass was very well-received by many foreign tourists, achieving a 4.8-star rating by global online travel agencies (OTA) with 92% positive user reviews and 97% positive reviews on purchaser surveys.

○ With the completion of the pilot operation, the city will officially launch four types of Visit Busan Pass products* starting Sept. 12. These products reflect the trends in global tourism and the preferences of the rapidly increasing individual traveler market.

* Time-limited passes: 24-hour (49,000 KRW), 48-hour (69,000 KRW) / Quantity-limited passes: BIG3 (45,000 KRW), BIG5 (65,000 KRW)

□ The newly launched, quantity-limited “BIG3” and “BIG5” passes have been developed with long-stay MICE visitors in mind, including medical tourists, overseas students, and so on. The passes can be used freely for six months in three or five affiliate stores chosen by the pass holders without any time restrictions.

□ Busan offers a wide variety of tourism facilities and has expanded the affiliated stores from 107 to 163 in sync with its official launch of the Visit Busan Pass.

○ Attracting more visitors is expected to revitalize the local tourism industry and economy.

□ Special promotions and various events have been prepared to commemorate the official launch of the Visit Busan Pass.

○ A large discount of 50% for BIG3 and BIG5 passes is available on the official Visit Busan Pass website (www.visitbusanpass.com).

○ Global OTAs Klook, Kkday, Trip.com, and Rakuten Travel, a newly added pass merchant, will run banner advertisements and discount promotions.

○ We will be holding a mission event to visit some affiliate stores to further make the Visit Busan Pass attractive as a must-have for foreign tourists traveling in Busan.
