Boogi, Busan’s public outreach character will help promote Busan's bid for the 2030 World Expo.

The City of Busan, jointly with Busan Metropolitan Corporation, produced a giant 8-meter high 'Rubber Boogi’, imprinted with a promotional message for its bid to host the 2030 World Expo, and set it up at Lotte World Adventure Busan. Lotte World Adventure Busan officially opened to the public in the Osiria Tourism Complex on March 31, 2022.

The display messages say ‘2030 부산세계박람회 유치를 응원해주세요!’ in Korean, meaning ‘Support Busan to host the 2030 World Expo.’ And ‘1988 올림픽, 2002 월드컵, 2030 부산세계박람회’ in Korean, meaning ‘The 1988 Olympics, 2002 World Cup, 2030 Busan World Expo’ and read in a rhythmical tune. The successful hosting of the 2030 World Expo in Busan will become a barometer for the future development of the ROK.

As part of the campaign to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan, the city launched the giant 'Rubber Boogi’ at the Osiria Tourism Complex theme park on March 29, 2022 and a 2030 Busan World Expo promotional video will be on display on the large electronic displays inside of the theme park’s food court until 2023.

The city plans to launch 'Rubber Boogi’ at the Osiria Tourism Complex as well as at Lotte World Adventure Busan in April and May. In addition, the ‘Rubber Boogi’ will make surprise appearances at various places in Busan after June.
