Busan has announced that it will display a message and logo on the Big Roof of the Busan Cinema Center to support its campaign to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.

The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) announced that five countries have submitted competing candidatures to host the 2030 World Expo: Russia (Moscow), the Republic of Korea (Busan), Italy (Rome), Ukraine (Odesa) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) on October 29, 2021. The City of Busan plans to carry out unique promotional events using all its resources.

As part of the unique promotions, the 'Big Roof’ of the Busan Cinema Center will be lit up with the 2030 Busan World Expo logo every night for 20 minutes at 8:30 p.m. (twice from November 10 to 16 at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.)

As one of the city's representative landmarks, the Busan Cinema Center’s ‘Big Roof’ is the largest cantilever roof in the world and certified by the Guinness Book of World Records (1.5 times larger than a soccer field). The LED lighting on the Big Roof creates a spectacular sight at the outdoor square of the Busan Cinema Center and from Suyeonggang riverside road at night.
