Busan Nakdong River Yuchae (Canola) Flower Festival 2018 

 

The 8th Busan Nakdong River Yuchae (Canola) Flower Festival will be held from April 6 to 14th at Daejeo Ecological Park in Gangseo-gu. The festival is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Busan Culture & Tourism Festival Organizing Committee and the Busan Agricultural Technology Center.


The 759,000m² of yuchae flowers, created in 2011, is the largest collection in Korea. The Busan Nakdong River Yuchae (Canola) Flower Festival, which began in 2012, is held every April during the blooming season.

A joint wedding ceremony for 10 couples will be held at the canola flower field as part of the opening event of the festival on April 6 at 2:00 p.m. Married or engaged couples, who haven’t had their wedding ceremony yet can submit their application at http://www.bfo.or.kr (Korean).

The ceremony titled, ‘Yuchae Flower Bride’ will leave an impression and happiness on the wedding couples and their guests.


The festival will feature a variety of activities including music performances, photo zones, photo exhibition, hanbok fashion show, riding donkey, flower field walks, Yuchae flower train and a food court and food truck, and more.


The admission to the festival is free but there are some paid events.


Thanks to the good response of the last year’s night opening program, the night opening hours will be expended one hour longer from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. this year. The colorful lights and music will make the scenes more enjoyable for visitors.


How to get there: Take Metro Line No. 3 to Gangseo-gu Office Station, then leave by Exit No. 2, or take Bus Nos. 123, 127, 128-1, or 130 and get off at Gangseo-gu Office, which is about a 15 minute walk from the park.
