2018 Opening Dates for All Seven Public Beaches in Busan

Haeundae Beach (Summer 2017) 

Busan Metropolitan City has announced the dates of operation for the seven public beaches during the summer season in Busan.

 

Opening dates of public beaches in Busan this summer are as follows:

Haeundae, Songjeong and Songdo Beaches: June 1 – August 31

Gwangalli, Dadaepo, Ilgwang and Imnang Beaches: July 1 – August 31

 

All seven beaches in Busan will close for summer on August 31. There are lots of fun and exciting activities and things to see and do at all seven beaches in Busan during the summer season.

Lifeguards are on duty daily (9:00AM – 6:00PM) during the summer beach season.

 

Haeundae Beach

Haeundae Beach is a wide sandy beach and the most popular and well-known beach in Korea.

New features: Beach cinema, music concert, photo zone, hot-air balloon ride

The 1.5 kilometer long beach pedestrian path widened to 4.5–6 meters wide. 11 small squares for busking performances and cultural events have been built on the beach pedestrian path.

Moonlight Swimming: July 27 – August 10 between July and August from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Songjeong Beach

Songjeong Beach

New features: a resting facility ‘Hue’ with air conditioning and shower room.

○ Address: 62, Songjeonghaebyeon-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan

○ Direction: Haeundae Station (Metro line 2), exit 1 or 7 → Transfer to bus no. 100-1 → Get off at Songjeong Beach Bus Stop.

○ Admission: Free

○ Amenities: restrooms, showers, changing rooms and more

Songdo Beach

Songdo Beach

Songdo Beach, first opened in July 1913, is the first public beach in Korea.

New features: Infant swimming pool, marine sports academy

○ Location: 50, Songdohaebyeon-ro, Seo-gu, Busan

○ Directions: Jagalchi Station (Metro line 1), exit 1 → Transfer to bus nos. 7, 26, 71, 96→ Get off at Songdo Beach Bus Stop.

○ Admission: Free

○ Amenities: marine sports center, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, foot-washing station, paid parking, diving boards, camping site and more

Gwangalli Beach

Free kayaking experience, car-free Saturday and Sunday evenings along Gwangalli Beach Road in July and August

New features: large swimming pool, air bouncy castle, mud zone

Ilgwang Beach

○ Directions: Ilgwang Station on Donghae line then 5 to 10 minutes walking to the beach

Imnang Beach
