From ancient times, it has been called Gijang-gupo because there are nine(gu) ports(po), referring to Hwasaeulpo-Gori, Wollae po-Wollae·Imnang, Dogipo-Munodong·Chiram·Sin-pyeong, Dongbaekpo-Dongbaek, Gipo-Idong, Ieulpo - Ilgwang·Icheon, Mujipo-Daebyeon, Gongsupo-Gongsu, Gaeulpo-Songjeong. After passing through the sea of Chiram shimmering black as if vanished with lacquer, and crossing Ilgwang, the stage of Oh Young-su's novel 'Seaside Village', trekkers will meet at the Gijang Gymnasium, which will informs them of the center of Gijang-gun, and route 1-1 ends at Gijang-gun Office.
