Born in Nagoya, Japan, he relocated to Busan following Korea’s liberation. After graduating from Busan Normal School (now Busan National University of Education), he worked as an art teacher at Deokmyung Girls’ Middle School and Dongseong High School, while actively continuing his artistic practice.
