Vanished Lands, Faded Memories
After Korea’s forced annexation by Japan in 1910, much of the farmland in Busan’s Beomjeon-ri and Yeonji-ri areas came under Japanese ownership. In 1930, the Seomyeon Horse Racetrack was established, serving as a venue for entertainment, bookmaker sales, and military horse training. Following the Sino-Japanese War and the Pacific War, the area transitioned to military use, hosting various Japanese military units and functioning as a temporary training center for monitoring Allied prisoners of war.
