  • Hosting Special Exhibitions

Since its opening in 2012, the Provisional Capital Memorial Hall has hosted annual special exhibitions focused on various aspects of Busan's modern history, aiming to showcase the city's historical and cultural identity and share it with the public. Special exhibitions like ‘Busan Wheat Noodle’ and ‘Uamdong Story’, developed through historical research and the documentation of citizens’ daily lives, highlight the post-liberation changes in Busan and offer diverse perspectives on the experiences of its residents.

  • Data Collection and Field Research

Since its opening, the Memorial Hall has consistently excavated and collected a wide range of materials related to Busan’s modern history. Notably, it actively conducts field research across various regions of Busan and publishes findings in academic journals to build a comprehensive body of research. These materials are combined with special exhibitions to give citizens a deeper and broader understanding of Busan’s modern history.

  • Museum Education

Additionally, the Memorial Hall provides family-friendly educational programs designed for both children and parents to learn and enjoy together. The educational programs primarily focus on themes that help students learn about Busan’s history during the Provisional Capital period and experience the daily lives of its citizens. For example, the “Rubber Shoe Decorating Experience” is held in the “Wartime School Tent Classroom” arranged in the outdoor garden. Going forward, we will continue to create a variety of hands-on programs for children to foster a lasting interest in the history and culture of our region, along with educational initiatives designed to make Busan’s modern history more accessible and engaging.
