Oriental Development Company
Constructed in 1929 as the Oriental Development Company Busan Branch, the Annex Building functioned as a hub for the exploitation of land, marine resources, and other assets in Busan until Korea’s liberation.

Busan American Council
After Korea’s liberation, the Annex Building was used as lodging for United States Armed Forces stationed in Busan.
Following the establishment of the Republic of Korea, it became the site of the Busan American Council, serving that role until the building was returned in 1999. -
Busan Modern History Museum
Following its repatriation, the Annex Building, once a symbol of foreign control, was transformed into the Busan Modern History Museum, operating from 2003 to 2021 and dedicated to documenting the turbulent events of Korea’s modern and contemporary history.

This facility serves as a cultural venue, integrating a library, archive, and museum.
