The new drive-in theater in Osiria Tourism Complex is now open. The hope is that the drive-in theater "Lotte Cinema×Drive Osiria" will help Busansites enjoy movies safely by abiding by COVID-19 social distancing protocols.
In 2016, the "Busan Cinema" drive-in theater on Eulsukdo Island closed. Now, "Drive Osiria" is the only regular drive-in theater in Busan. The theater is the largest drive-in theater in the southeastern region of Korea, including Busan, Ulsan and the Gyeongsangnam-do province. The 14,000 meters squared site can accommodate 308 cars. The screen size measures 25 meters in width and 13 meters in height.
Movies are screened twice a day, regardless of the day. The running time varies depending on the movie. However, due to the nature of drive-in theaters, the screening starts after the sun goes down. An entrance ticket is 22,000 won per vehicle regardless of the number of people watching.
Reservations can be made on the website (lottecinema.co.kr), mobile application or on-site at the entrance, on a first-come-first-served basis.
Sure to become a new hot-spot the Osiria Tourism Complex is beginning its rise to fame with the Drive Osiria. Skyline Luge attraction, with carts flying down the mountain, will open later this month. Then, Lotte World Adventure Busan will join the complex in August. The new amusement park will feature two new types of roller coasters such as "Power Splash," which plunges passengers into water and "The Giant Digger," which rotates 360 degrees, the first of its kind in Asia. Additionally, luxury accommodations, shopping mall complexes and a golf course are now available in the 3.66 million meters squared complex.
