Vote for your favorite dwaeji gukbap

 

Dwaeji Gukbap, Busan’s iconic pork soup with rice, is a beloved local comfort food that comes in many styles. Its broth can range from clear and light to milky and rich, giving everyone a chance to find a bowl that suits their taste. 

Now, the search is on for the city’s best gukbap spots. Busan City is inviting residents to nominate their favorite restaurants for the 2026 Busan Dwaeji Gukbap Fair, a culinary event dedicated to the city’s signature dish. 

Twenty restaurants will be selected by public vote to take part in the event. From long-standing establishments to new spots creating waves in the community, any dwaeji gukbap restaurant in Busan is eligible.

The nomination period runs through Sept. 2 and is open to anyone who loves dwaeji gukbap. To participate, submit the name and exact location of a Busan-based restaurant through one of three designated online channels. Since multiple restaurants may share the same name, be sure to include the exact address or branch name. 

Nominations can be submitted by leaving a comment on Instagram or YouTube, or by filling out the Google Form linked below. Multiple nominations for the same restaurant from a single account will be counted as a single entry.

Participating restaurants will be selected based on public recommendations and a review of each establishment’s operating status and eligibility to participate in the event. The results will be announced on Sept. 11 via the official Visit Busan Instagram account. 

The 20 selected restaurants will later take part in Gukbap Week as part of the 2026 Busan Dwaeji Gukbap Fair. The program will highlight their signature dishes, locations and the unique stories behind them. During the event, locals and visitors can visit the selected restaurants and try them for themselves, or cast their votes based on previous experiences to determine the best of the best bowls.
