Say "Bonjour" to Busan's Alliance Francaise
The Alliance Francaise de Busan was established in 1980 with the cooperation of the French embassy, Alliance Francaise Foundation and others to promote French culture. Like other French cultural centers in Korea, it is primarily an institution for those who want to learn French or about French culture.

March is the month of the Francophonie Festival, where French-speaking communities and countries hold events to celebrate the language. The festival is held around March 20 every year. The center will host the event and will provide visitors with opportunities for cultural exchange. Alliance Francaise sometimes gives festival-goers the chance to taste Beaujolais Nouveau wine and to meet with French artists.
The center also operates Art Space in Haeundae. Art Space runs exhibitions and cultural displays ranging from photographs, paintings and sculptures to installations and media art. Art Space in turn runs the Goeun Museum next door, which gives Busan artists a space to display their own artwork. The Goeun Museum will run a photo exhibition by Park Jongwoo about the peninsula's demilitarized zone (DMZ) from March to May 27. Park entered the DMZ for the first time since the Korean War armistice and has been steadily working on taking photos of its landscape.

The museum will exhibit the boundary line of land and the exhibition center will show the boundary of the sea. The lines will be connected by an outside fence installation. The opening reception will be held on March 21. The artist is scheduled to visit the museum on March 22.
All venues and events are subject to change, postponement or cancellation due to COVID-19.
