Seafarers learning Korean
A new, free educational program created exclusively for foreign seafarers has been launched at the Korea Crew Welfare Employment Center in Jungang-dong (neighborhood).
Korean classes have been designed for foreign seafarers who come to Korea often but have not had time to learn the language due to their busy lives on board. Twenty spaces are available on a first come, first served basis; schedules can be tailored to student departure and arrival times. Korean basic grammar, vocabulary as well as basic daily Korean conversation will be offered.
Any foreign members of ship crews or their employers looking for more information should contact the Foreign Seafarers Administration Support Center of the Korea Seafarer's Welfare and Employment Center at 051-911-3151 or 1566-3151.
