Temporarily halting the museum’s conventional presupposition of viewing as a passive mode, the exhibition requires audiences to enter into the act of reading, both to engage with the artworks and the world alike. Reading is framed not as the simple decoding of information, but as epistemological labor to apprehend structure and construct interpretation at points where meaning is deferred or in conflict. Thus, the exhibition aims to shift the center of the art experience from the immediate consumption of sensation toward the formation of interpretation and the potential of misreading.
