Moon Sohyun : Life in the Park

Moon Sohyun’s Life in the Park(2016) is a 12-channel video work created with stop-motion animation. The artist meticulously captured the frame-by-frame movements of handmade, expressionless dolls. Their rigid, unnatural gestures evoke the image of anonymous crowds. These figures metaphorically represent individuals marginalized within social systems. Through them, the work reveals the hidden darkness beneath the tranquil surface of everyday life. It is characterized by Moon’s distinctive perspective—grotesque, yet sharply observant.
