MoCA Collection aims to reflect, through the collection of the museum, upon the meaning of art and its associated practices as produced within our unpredictable contemporary environment, and to reassess continuously whether it is time to reinterpret or redefine the artworks in our collection. 

With what attitude will individuals confront contemporary times?

How will the museum manage the huge responsibility of its role as it impacts upon and influences individual lives? 

 

The Museum of Contemporary Art Busan has been collecting and exhibiting artworks with a focus on nature and humanity, in terms of content, and which are new media-based, in terms of form.

The museum is also making steadfast efforts to strengthen the culture of the city of Busan, by acquiring artworks by artists based in Busan and from the Busan Biennale, as a means of promoting the development of local art. 

MoCA Collection is just one of many ongoing attempts to further clarify the direction of the museum and develop our collection.
