In the 21st century, the environment has become a global issue. Because dealing with sociopolitical issues is nothing new for art museums, many exhibitions have been held over the past 10 years that give voice to and force us to take stock of environmental and ecological issues. This exhibition began with the question of how viewers can be encouraged to voluntarily accept environmental conservation as a personal matter while avoiding the pitfall of imitating existing environment exhibitions and losing sight of the central aim. After prolonged deliberation, three directors eventually produced 《TIMEWALKER the timetravel corporation》, which is a game-style intermedia exhibition.

If the fundamental goal of the art exhibition is education, the most ideal form of education, from the art museum's perspective, is to perpetuate the museum's values in the lives of viewers in a sustainable manner. This is why 《TIMEWALKER the timetravel corporation》 follows the escape room game format, in which participants have to solve difficult problems on their own. The game's plot, which was provided by renowned Korean science fiction writer Neoul Shim, is merged with contemporary art to create an exhibition that requires not unilateral consumption of the content but viewers' active participation in a fun game for it to have meaning.

Eulsukdo was selected as the venue not only because it is where the Museum of Contemporary Art Busan is located but also because it is the site of a serious environmental incident. Shim's novel begins with a timetravel company that is located on a future version of Eulsukdo. Through the company's time machine, people eventually see the laxness of control and reckless way in which the city is operated, in addition to Eulsukdo's environment in the past, which was damaged on multiple occasions as a result of political corruption. As spaces attain a present, realistic vitality when they are closely linked to actual incidents, this game-style exhibition was designed with Eulsukdo as the backdrop in the hope that viewers would immerse themselves in the game and take personal interest in the environment based on their vivid experiences with the game.

The content of 《TIMEWALKER the timetravel corporation》 focuses on Timewalker, an imaginary company that has developed a (limited) mode of timetravel using technologies based on something called "spacetime foam ." The year is 2031, an era in which timetravel tours are very popular, and many tour products are being released on Eulsukdo because the area is particularly rich in spacetime foam. The journey begins at Eulsukdo Platform, which was designed for tourists to board the time machine, called TW-07, and exhibition viewers become tourists engaging in timetravel to Eulsukdo. Soon after boarding, TW-07 makes an emergency stop because of a "gap" in the foam. The foam gaps, which cover various blocks of time, are spaces created by contemporary artists by blending their creations (on environmental issues) with game elements. The "tourists" carry out tasks in each foam gap and have an exciting game-playing experience of moving forward in time and then eventually finding a way back to their own reality. We hope that this experience is special for all participants.

This exhibition's ultimate aim is for visitors to recognize their responsibility for the environment-that is, to encourage visitors to convert their unique exhibition experience into a desire to take ethical responsibility for the condition of our planet.
