  • Obtained government’s promise to approve the bid for the 2030 Busan Registered Expo (July 2015)
  • Launched the Citizens Committee on Busan’s Bid for the 2030 World Expo as a voluntary association (July 2015, 725 people)
  • Enacted the Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on supporting bid to host the World Expo 2030 Busan (September 2015)
  • Completed the basic planning service on the feasibility of the bid for the Expo (April 2016)
  • Incorporated citizens committee in the bidding process for the 2030 World Expo Busan Korea (June 2020)

  • Filed application to host an international event (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, July 2016)
  • Selected project for feasibility study for an international event (Ministry of Economy and Finance, February 2017)
  • Conducted an international event feasibility study (Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, March 2017~ February 2018)
  • Completed the international event feasibility study (February 2018)
  • Obtained cabinet meeting’s approval (May 2019), detailed reporting and on-site briefing (November 2019)
