BeFM reaches 120k YouTube subscribers
Busan English Broadcasting, also known as BeFM, has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 120,000 YouTube subscribers
Since last year, BeFM has expanded its digital presence, growing from 4,600 to 120,000 subscribers in just a year. The surge in subscribers can be attributed to BeFM's commitment to creating informative and engaging content that captures the national and international zeitgeist.
Over 82% of subscribers are based in Korea, with 32.4% concentrated in Seoul compared to just 7.2% from Busan. The channel also attracts international viewers, with over 10% of subscribers hailing from English-speaking countries like the United States and Canada.
BeFM hosts various programs and streams five live shows: "Morning Wave in Busan," "Busan Worldwide," "Midday Mate," "4 Your Busan," and "All-Star English."
Viewers have been particularly drawn to "All-Star English," which makes learning English fun and accessible. With its playful tone and diverse cast, including Minsoo Shin, R&B singer Johan Kim, Asia Lee Campbell and Busan mascot Boogi, the program helps viewers learn native English expressions.
Under the motto "Busan is good for English," BeFM continues to develop unique content. Special programs include "English Power," a travel series exploring local tourism hot spots, and "Fingertip Chef: Cooking My Life," a radio documentary sharing the stories and recipes of visually impaired individuals.
